Now a full week after their trial in Mississippi, the Motorhome Diaries crew and their followers await the verdict. The Jones County Sheriff’s current legal troubles stem from an ill-conceived traffic stop that culminated in the May 14 arrest of all three Motorhome Diaries crew members.
Before last Thursday’s trial Jason, Pete and Adam were offered a deal to drop the matter but they decided to press on and see it through to trial. “We declined due to the fact that these officers would never get a chance to be held accountable, which is our first priority,” said Adam Mueller. “It was nice to get the officers on the stand to get answers on the matter. I hope they are feeling the pressure and think twice before violating the rights of the next out of state RV that passes through Jones County.”
If any of the three men are found guilty the case will proceed to a trial de novo.
“We were represented by Michael Cory Jr. & Dale Danks with their two legal assistants, of the Jackson, MS-based Danks, Miller, Hamer & Cory and Tom Schornhorst , Emeritus Professor of Law Indiana University School of Law,” said Pete Eyre. Much gratitude is due these fine folks who gave of their time and talent to such a worthy cause.
The MHD3, as they are now known, have since moved on but not before spending a week in Jones County meeting with local residents and documenting some of the day-to-day hardships they are forced to endure. Jason Talley outlined their decision to spend some time on the ground in the area. “Pete, Adam and I agreed that we would return to Jones County for an entire week to expose the out of control law enforcement preying on the good people there. Specifically the out of control Sheriff’s Department led by Alex Hodge. One just has to visit JonesCountySheriff.com to realize how widespread the problem actually is.”
All three Motorhome Diaries crew members are also active members of the Free Agents Network. You should be, too. Their ongoing search for freedom in America can be followed at their website as well as in the Friends of the Motorhome Diaries group within our social network.

Nice write up Nick. I thought you would mention your free dinner, at my expense, in relation to this case as well. Hope you like the dollar menu at McDonald’s.
Nick don’t do Irish food.
Don’t pin that on us, Kroc was a Czech.
lol Sorry.
Good luck guys. The fact that this even went to trial is bullshit.
Taking it to trial was the right thing to do. If it needs to be appealed all the way to the state or federal supreme court(s) to get justice for yourselves, and for the other people in Jones County, please keep up the good fight. If that means you need funds raised or contacts with other lawyers, or amicus briefs or anything, please do not ever hesitate to call upon me for anything.
It fills my heart with joy that you were able to be represented by competent counsel in this matter.
Memo to Sheriff Alex and his thugs:\
Good job by the MHD3 and all who support them.
Thank you for all the detail! Still a typical remarkable way of looking at things, it’s the reason why My spouse and I come back to all your blog site generally!!
Most likely a good example of where Canada is further up the tyranny ladder than the US (”easy on marijuana), tough on technology for ideology.
I’m really interested in hearing what MHD has to say.
