Motorhome Diaries Verdict on Standby

Now a full week after their trial in Mississippi, the Motorhome Diaries crew and their followers await the verdict.  The Jones County Sheriff’s current legal troubles stem from an ill-conceived traffic stop that culminated in the May 14 arrest of all three Motorhome Diaries crew members.

Before last Thursday’s trial Jason, Pete and Adam were offered a deal to drop the matter but they decided to press on and see it through to trial.  “We declined due to the fact that these officers would never get a chance to be held accountable, which is our first priority,” said Adam Mueller.  “It was nice to get the officers on the stand to get answers on the matter.  I hope they are feeling the pressure and think twice before violating the rights of the next out of state RV that passes through Jones County.”

If any of the three men are found guilty the case will proceed to a trial de novo.

We were represented by Michael Cory Jr. & Dale Danks with their two legal assistants, of the Jackson, MS-based Danks, Miller, Hamer & Cory and Tom Schornhorst , Emeritus Professor of Law Indiana University School of Law,” said Pete Eyre.  Much gratitude is due these fine folks who gave of their time and talent to such a worthy cause.

The MHD3, as they are now known, have since moved on but not before spending a week in Jones County meeting with local residents and documenting some of the day-to-day hardships they are forced to endure.  Jason Talley outlined their decision to spend some time on the ground in the area.  “Pete, Adam and I agreed that we would return to Jones County for an entire week to expose the out of control law enforcement preying on the good people there. Specifically the out of control Sheriff’s Department led by Alex Hodge. One just has to visit JonesCountySheriff.com to realize how widespread the problem actually is.”

All three Motorhome Diaries crew members are also active members of the Free Agents Network.  You should be, too.  Their ongoing search for freedom in America can be followed at their website as well as in the Friends of the Motorhome Diaries group within our social network.
