Thanks Don,
I think each side has its strengths and weaknesses. However, as much as I think there is a lot of middle ground on both sides these days, it still seems like for every genuine liberal/conservative I come across who is staying consistent in their criticism of issues there is another one supporting/opposing issues that completely contradict their stances from this time last year. Even some of the people professing to be libertarians still believe in statist policies such as immigration restrictions and militarism.

Bush created a lot of conservative libertarians during his 8 years, maybe Obama will do the same on the liberal side.

Excellent article. While reading it, I kept marveling at how similar liberals and libertarians really are. Nowadays so many libertarians are spending all their time bad-mouthing "the liberals." But the true liberals (e.g., the Democracy Now! crowd) are just as pissed about the bail-outs as we are. I'm not saying liberals and libertarians are one in the same, but I almost think we have more in common with liberals than conservatives. I know I'm generalizing and all, but I think it’d be easier to convert a liberal to anarchism than a conservative.
