Well I’m not the world’s most passionate guy but I have been known to occasionally ogle the ladies. Liberty-loving ladies? That’s just the icing on the proverbial cake.
The Ladies of Liberty Alliance (LOLA) has done the hard work of getting the ladies together and creating what promises to be a very eye-pleasing addition to every freedom fighter’s wall.
“Let me just tell you- it is well worth the investment! It looks amazing,” said Free Agent and model Allison Gibbs, who has had a chance to see the finished product.
This Monday marks the LOLA Calendar Bomb. The goal? One hundred calendar orders in one day. Twenty dollars translates into sixteen months of viewing pleasure with the added bonus of being able to keep track of birthdays and other special occasions! So what’s the problem? Do it. Supporting the cause. Guilt free.
Place your order at iamlola.org.

Can’t wait to get mine! And did you hear that – I’m dating a model!
Thanks for posting buddy.
News such as this makes me move towards agreement with Rad Geek more and more.
I’m in it!
Sorry Anonymous:
Rad Geek is just as much part of the problem as is Lew Rockwell.com, Roderick Long, the lad crowd at Reason, uptight gay men at Cato, etc.
Though, frankly, if you have a penis, I really don’t give a damn what your opinion on “this news” might be.
Maybe I ought to create an Asian Libertarians activism group– ’cause hey, we’re even more of a minority in libertarian communities, and we all know being Asian has an impact on one’s activism potential.
I don’t think there’s anything wrong with targeting different demographics. I’m not necessarily any more interested in dating libertarian women than any other kind of women but I do think that libertarianism needs more women just as it needs more Asians, hispanics, blacks, etc… I think libertarianism needs more people, period.
We do need more people, but why do you target women or other minorities? Reminds me of affirmative action.
Anyone can target any group they want or all groups simultaneously. I think that there is something to be said for targeted marketing, though. Like I said above. We need more people, period. If someone is better than getting women on board than I am then great! Do it. If I don’t like then I’ll do my own activism using a different tactic. Same goes for any 20-25 year-old working class guys from industrial areas or Chinese grandparents, or whatever. Wanna be less targeted? Great. Do that then.
I do think that targeted marketing is generally more effective than un-targeted marketing, though. Even if it has been over 15 years since I took a marketing class.
Why not target blondes, then? You don’t seem to be getting my point– which is that targetting one group of people based on a superficial trait (that does not influence their potential for principled activism) is bullshit.
Of course I’m getting your point. You’re against stuff.
I’m against ridiculous bullshit stuff, yes. Such as the belief that those having a vagina deserve a whole new activism group.
What must a potential group do in order to “deserve” to be a new activist group?
Don’t herd people based on a superficial trait that does not have anything to do with potential for rational principled activism.
That’s the difference between having a network for blonde libertarians and one for Midwest libertarians (in the latter the geographical proximity does rationally affect activism).
Who’s being herded? It’s a bunch of women who have gotten together to target a segment of the population for their activism.
“a segment of the population” = herding a select number of libertarians together on the basis of gender, which ultimately has no meaningful impact on activism anymore than my being Asian does.
targetting one group of people based on a superficial trait (that does not influence their potential for principled activism) is bullshit.
For the vast mass of humanity, gender is anything but a superficial trait. It is a defining one. Taken in conjunction with the observable fact that activist involvement in liberty causes from women falls far short of that seen other parts of the political spectrum, there is a need here that is underserved.
Majority doesn’t make reality. And why is there a need to have more people in libertarianism just because they have vaginas?
Vaginas: I am for ‘em.
Although I DO support LOLA and purchased a calendar myself, I fail to see how this calendar will draw women to the cause. It’s more likely men who already are in the movement will have just more pics to stare at. Hopefully though, the proceeds will be useful, and it will do something, although I’m not sure what.
Yeah. As I understand it the calendar sales are simply a way to earn money for their activism.
Why not the GLA: Gays for Libertarian Alliance?
Why not? Go ahead and do it.
Why not the Black Gays for Libertarian Alliance?
Why not? I think we could use more gays, blacks and black gays in the movement. I think we just need more people period. Where do you live that you don’t think so? Maybe I should move there.
What about redhead libertarians?
I agree with Noor here, sex-driven restrictions are irrelevant for activism.
“I think we just need more people period.”
Then why do you believe in targetting 50% of people, rather than 100%?
Because targeting works. If you have a good plan for targeting 100% of the people, tell me what it is and I’ll do a post on it.
What we’ve been doing so far. Target all people, regardless of whether they have a vagina or different amounts of pigment.
I did a story on the Free Agents Network… Not that I think the Free Agents Network is really targeting 100% of the population.
